The ancient glow of Peridot

Peridot is my birthstone…
and for most of my life, I ignored it.

I could appreciate its beauty, of course—its fresh, luminous green, its quiet elegance—but it never called to me.

Until now.

Now, I want to drink in its light.
To bathe in its inner glow.
To let it reach me in a way it never has before.

And in a way… I did drink it.

I co-created a Peridot Star Song Energy Elixir, and something shifted.
Its energy has been softly radiating through my field—subtle, gentle… yet unmistakably powerful.

Peridot doesn’t push.
It aligns.

I’ve felt it attuning me to my own sovereignty—helping me settle into my power with a new sense of ease. Not force. Not striving. Just a quiet, embodied knowing: I am allowed to take up space in my own light.

And then I wanted more.

I wanted it on my skin.

I found my Peridot ring and began wearing it again. One day, I noticed something… a glow from within the stone. When I looked closer, I saw what appeared to be a tiny pyramid of light, with four rays emanating from its peak.

A geometry of illumination.

Which feels fitting… because Peridot carries the energy of ancient power.

A Stone of Queens and Kings

Peridot is one of the oldest known gemstones ever treasured by humanity.

The ancient Egyptians called it the “Gem of the Sun.”

Its earliest recorded use dates back to around 1500 BCE, sourced from a small, mysterious island in the Red Sea—known today as Zabargad Island, but once called Snake Island… even the Island of Death.

Pharaohs sent workers there to mine the stone for their royal treasuries—day and night.

And here’s the magic…

Peridot glows in the dark.

By firelight, the Peridot crystals shimmered with an inner radiance, making them easier to find in the darkness. It was this luminous quality that earned its solar name—and secured its place as a stone of royalty, protection, and divine favour.

Of Earth… and the Stars

Peridot is born deep within the Earth’s mantle, carried to the surface through volcanic fire.

But some Peridot doesn’t come from Earth at all.

It arrives from the cosmos.

On rare occasions Peridot is found within pallasite meteorites—ancient fragments of the cosmos—where the luminous green crystals rest, suspended in a shimmering matrix of iron and nickel.

These celestial stones are billions of years old… formed at the very beginning of our solar system.

Peridot, it seems, bridges worlds.

Earth and sky.
Body and spirit.
Human and cosmic.

The Living Green Flame

Peridot only forms in tones of green—but what a green it is.

Its colour is born from iron—too little, and it pales to yellow; too much, and it deepens into opacity. There is a perfect balance point where the stone becomes luminous, vibrant, alive.

A reminder, perhaps, that we are also seeking that balance.

Not too much.
Not too little.
But the exact frequency where we shine.
