Crystal Eggs

The Egg is a universal symbol of creation. Many creation myths involve an egg that holds a creator being or creation itself. In sacred geometry, the egg of life is the key phase of manifestation. Eight spheres in harmonious symmetry mirror the eight-cell stage of developing life. 

This is an ideal time to explore the egg. If shapes had seasons, spring would be the egg. Spring brings to mind new beginnings, colour and creation and in the western hemisphere, we are seeing all these things burst forth from the dark quiet of winter. 

The shape of eggs

In the crystal world, eggs are sought out for work with fertility, creativity and manifestation. And while the egg shape is often a man-made one, I have seen many natural crystal eggs. They might not be the exact, smooth, oval shape that we associate with eggs, but they are eggs nevertheless.

Agate Enhydros, for instance, with their hollow pockets of pure ancient liquid. If life is not actually swimming around in these stone eggs (and I believe it is), they hold the that energy of creation. I call them Water Babies.

At their core

Geodes are natural eggs. They are crystalline nodules with hollow centers that are filled with many sparkling crystal babies. If you want to work with the energy of abundance and manifestation, they will share their sacred geometric “egg of life” blueprint with you.

Thunder Egg

Amulet Stone is a beautiful example of these egg-like nodules. I have discovered many magical beings who lived inside these crystalline wombs. They are called by many names: Mt. Hay Amulet Stone, Star Agate, and…Thunder EGG. 

They don’t look like eggs

Any crystal can potentially be an egg. They are harder to find. Perhaps because they are not in the “egg” shape, we might not recognize them. You must be still and listen to them to know if they are eggs. They will tell you if they are.

Blue Eggs

The Blue Dragon Eggs are a perfect example. They are a group of blue quartz crystals who whispered many things to me. One of which is that they are egg crystals. It’s a rare and special privilege to connect with these crystalline ones.

The essence of Creation

Once a rare Shift crystal cluster revealed itself to me as being an egg. It was quite the unusual crystal, having both visible feminine and masculine characteristics. It is this space/place of bringing both aspects of the masculine and the feminine together that is at the essence of CREATION! Along with the frequency of creativity that they generously share, they can show us how to balance the dual polarities within each of us, giving us a true sense of being at peace. A crystal and wisdom we could truly benefit from in our chaotic times.

Blue Seed Pod

I once came across an unusual “egg” crystal. It was a tumbled Holly Blue Agate with a beautiful colour. It’s not technically an egg. It is a seed pod ... a hollow pod that holds a space for creation. So it doesn’t have an oval shape, but it carries all the same energies that you’d expect from an egg crystal.

You need a crystal egg when…

You are a leader in a community;
You are having challenges starting a family;
You are having experiencing trauma or drama with a family member;
You are starting a new business;
You are looking for a new home or organizing your home
You are an artist looking for inspiration for a new creation; 

Really eggs are for anyone who is looking to bring the spring energy into their lives: new beginnings and new creations. However, if none of those things apply to you, but you still find yourself attracted to eggs, they might hold a gift you didn’t even know you need. The metaphysical properties of crystals are simply guidelines—a place to start—each and every single, individual stones have their own unique purpose. Just like us.
