Spring is a beautiful time of year. It is an awakening of sorts. We may not be coming out of a cave after a long period of sleep like the bear, but we are coming out of the darkness and quiet of winter. And with the longer days comes a powerful urge to clean and cleanse. It is a ritual that is celebrated across cultures. It is instinctual. It is primal. 

As much as we look forward to the sparkling freshness and spaciousness that we enjoy after a spring clean, the work itself can be overwhelming and uncomfortable. It’s so easy to put it off, or give up once the initial motivation has worn off. That is if we can get ourselves to start at all.

Cleaning Crew

For Compulsion

Amethyst or Vanadinite can help us with our compulsive shopping habit, so that we can stop bringing in more things that add to our clutter. Whether we have been hoarding or we need to remove clutter from our lives, they can help us to release that which is not in harmony with who we are or who we want to be.

Pink for love

Then when we become critical and hard on ourselves for allowing our lives to get so messy, invite in a soft pink rhodochrosite stone or a rose quartz crystal. Fluorite is a beautiful crystal for helping us with organizing our space and the energy in our body. For this purpose, I might tend to choose raw fluorite crystals with natural geometric shapes, but all fluorite has the connection to that energy of structure and design.

Freshness

Chrysoprase has that beautiful colour and energy of freshness and spaciousness. It can help put you in that energetic frequency of expansiveness as you cleanse your space and your body. Breathe deeply

Aquamarine crystals have whispered to me that through the filter of their blue tone, they purify and transform anything that has become embedded and is obstructing the airways. They show us how to release the resistance to the irritation by rediscovering a part of the self that has been hidden or denied. This will not only cleanse the passageways but also renders the toxin (allergen/irritant) inert. I called on them recently when we were doing some long overdue dusting.

There is nothing like a crystal cluster to cheer us on and inspire us to keep going when we feel like giving up. They can also show us how to harmonize our space, not just for beauty but for the feng shui of the home.
