Fire Agate vibrates to the number 9 and is the astrological sign of Aries. Agate is an incredible stone. It is believed to have been among man's earliest possessions. Egyptians were mining Agate as early as 3500 B.C. In Historic times, agate was placed in water for use in cooking and for drinking in order to dispel sickness. Agate is a balancing stone. It assists in looking at oneself and ones circumstances concerning ones well being. Provides perceptiveness to situations, awakening ones inherent talents and adroitness. It can produce angelic/spiritual inspiration. It looks like an ordinary rock at first but then as you look closer, it lights up with glowing colours of orange, green, yellow and sometimes red, blue and purple. The wonderful fire is not always apparent at first glance, but when it is held at just the right angle, the beautiful glowing colours suddenly appear. It reminds me of our own inner beauty which is also not always apparent at first glance. Fire Agate is said to dispel fear from the very depths of the inner being. It provides a protective shield which reflects negative thoughts (whether intentional or unintentional) back to the source in a way that the originator of the negativity will understand that the harmful thoughts are being sent back! It is a great stone to have during these uncertain times when many of us are so fearful. It's energy encourages one to be the 'best' possible, stimulating progression and advancement and initiating introspection and inspiration. It represents the flame of absolute perfection.

Agate is a form of Chalcedony and shares its properties. Chalcedony balances the energy of the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It is a stone to encourage 'brotherhood' among all, symbolizing benevolence and good will, stemming from the stone;s nurturing energy. It alleviates hostilities, irritability and melancholy. It enhances generosity, responsiveness and receptivity. Chalcedony was used as a sacred stone by the Native American Indians to promote stability within the ceremonial activities of the tribe.

I just discovered something new about Fire Agate ... something I'd never noticed about them before. Rubbing the stones seems to bring out their fire! Soooo interesting as it reminds me of the fact that you need to rub 2 sticks together to create a spark - fire! (which is what the flashes of color are referred to) This is a new discovery for me ... so I'm not sure yet what it's all about, but I'll keep playing and I encourage you to do the same ... and please do share your discoveries! This is not the first stone that I notice which seems to be affected by our presence. Rhodochrosite is one that I've seen deepen in color when held or even just around us and I believe Ruby is also another such stone. Perhaps really all the stones do this, and some are just more noticeable than others ... these "noticeable" ones are the ones which reveal this particular quality about stones to us ... and perhaps this goes even deeper than the stone beings; perhaps this quality extends to all beings! This does make sense ... the presence of another vibration, brings out something in the other being. As with any relationship ... for every relationship there is a unique dynamic. So maybe this goes deeper to where something unique is "sparked" within each of us though "every" connection that we make ... even those which we don't notice. Very special teaching that came through here.

These fiery stones are approx. 1/2" to 1". I will listen for the one who is singing for you.
