Copper: The Heart Metal

As we cross into the second half of 2025, it’s time to pause and honor the journey we’ve been walking with our Year Stones—Emerald and Copper. In the past weeks, we explored the magic and messages from Emerald. Today we listen to the whispers of Copper—that warm, gleaming ally that has been quietly supporting our transformation these past six months.

A Personal Love Story

Copper has always held a sacred space in my practice. There’s something about its warm, burnished glow that speaks directly to the feminine essence. It takes us into the nurturing, intuitive, flow of the yin energy.

It’s become one of my most trusted allies, part of an intimate circle of four stones I reach for when I am in need of physical strength and energetic support.

This week, as I opened my heart to receive copper’s messages, I received an unexpected gift from this sacred stone. I had been experiencing pain in my knees when I moved in a particular way. I intuitively placed Copper against the affected area and noticed a significant shift. The pain eased and my mobility increased.

The next day brought a stubborn headache and again, Copper called to me. As I placed it on my head, my crown buzzed with an electric energy. It felt as if the metal was actively drawing the tension from my head. I normally reach for a Star Song to instantly ease any pain, but that day, my body wanted copper.

The Heart’s Metal

I have come to know copper as the metal of the heart. It is not just a conductor of electricity, but of emotional and spiritual currents, helping open the heart and release emotional stagnation, the way it drew out the pain in my knee and my head.

As we navigate the complexities of 2025, this heart-centered support feels especially relevant. Copper is a gentle, consistent ally that helps us stay connected to our heart—to the ever present rhythm that pulls us out of the noise of our racing minds.

Working with Copper’s Energy

If you want to invite copper’s energy into your life, following are some ways in which we can journey with the ancient, magical stone.

Inside your personal energy field
Copper invites us to carry them with us as a daily companion. Take it with you when you’re out and about. But also keep it nearby when you’re at home, or at work. I have been keeping copper at my bedside. I find some of the deepest connections happen when I’m sleeping.

Space clearing
Place Copper in the four corners of your room or around the perimeter of your home to shift the energy of your space and to create an energetic grid of grounding and protection.

Gentle healing
When you need physical support, place Copper directly on your body. Trust your intuition about placement and duration—your body’s wisdom will guide you. Notice how it feels against your skin, how it warms to your touch.

Creating with Copper
You can get creative with copper and make pendants or necklaces with wire from craft or jewelry-making stores. If you want to sculpt sacred shapes, you can find copper wire in thicker gauges at hardware stores. Have fun with it. Experiment with the wire with playful curiosity.

Start now

If you are journeying with a year stone, take some time to reflect on how it has supported you so far and go into the next six months with an open heart and the expectation of more surprises. And if you did not start 2025 with a year stone, it’s not too late to invite one in right now.
